Delta Community’s Annual Scholarship Program is dedicated to recognizing and supporting students who embody the values of leadership, community involvement and academic excellence.

Guidelines

The Delta Community Credit Union Scholarship is designed to assist eligible members with college/higher education expenses. Delta Community will disburse five (5) $5,000 scholarships in 2026. Scholarships are earmarked for tuition, books, lodging or meal costs and will be made payable to the college, university or trade school by Delta Community. The school must be accredited and located in the United States.

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Be a Delta Community member and primary accountholder in good standing at the time of application submission (no delinquent loans, overdrawn or charged off accounts at the time the award is given). Go to DeltaCommunityCU.com/Join to open an account.
  2. Be enrolled to attend an accredited college or university in the fall of the 2026-2027 academic year as a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship award must be used during the specified academic year.
  3. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of the end of the prior semester.

Delta Community Credit Union employees, board members and high school apprentices are not eligible to apply.

The following is required to be submitted with your application:

  1. Completion of Delta Community's Financial Education Center Money Management and Credit Matters BalanceTrack modules.
  2. Typed, double-spaced essay of at least 300 words (not more than 500 words) on the topic below. The essay will be judged on content, creativity and clarity. Additionally, correct grammar usage and spelling are expected.

    After completing Delta Community’s Financial Education Center BalanceTrack modules, you’ve gained valuable insights into money management and responsible credit use. How will you apply this knowledge to shape your financial future in a positive and practical way?

  3. Applications must be complete and submitted by March 1, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. (EST). Application must be completed entirely via online application—no part of the application package should be sent in separately. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be accepted for consideration.

Judging will take place by a selection panel, and winners will be Announced on April 3, 2026. All selections are final. Applicants will be notified by a Credit Union representative via phone and/or email.

Process

1. Register

Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.

2. Log in

Log in with your email and password.

3. Create

Create your online application.

4. Save

During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section.

5. Submit

On completion, save your Application as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.

Who is eligible for the Delta Community Credit Union Scholarship?

Applicant must be enrolled to attend an accredited college, university or trade school in the fall of the 2026-2027 academic year as a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree.

Do I have to be a member of Delta Community to apply?

Yes. The applicant must be the primary owner of their own account.

What if I am under 18 years of age?

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant or existing member aged 16 and 17 can open an account with an eligible joint owner and be the primary owner.

What if I am not currently a Delta Community member?

There is not a required length of membership for eligibility. If an applicant is not currently a Delta Community member, they may open a new account prior to submitting the scholarship application. Go to DeltaCommunityCU.com/Join to open an account.

When is the application deadline?

Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. (EST).

How can the completed application be submitted?

Applications must be submitted via the online application found at DeltaCommunityCU.com/Scholarships. No part of the application will be accepted by mail, email or at a branch.

When will the winners be notified and announced?

Winners will be notified by phone and/or email by a Delta Community representative on April 3, 2026. An email will be sent to applicants who were not selected to receive a scholarship award.

How do I complete the BalanceTrack Modules?
  • Visit the BalanceTrack website using the provided link.
    • Locate the “Create Account” option.
    • Fill in the required fields, such as: Name, Email address, & Password.
    • Follow any additional instructions to complete your registration, such as verifying your email.
    • Once registered, log in and explore the modules.

  • Steps to Complete the BalanceTrack Modules:
    1. Log in to BalanceTrack using the account you created.
    2. Navigate to the “Credit Matters” and “Money Management” modules.
    3. Complete the seven pages of each module by carefully reading the material and taking notes if needed.
    4. At the end of each module, take the 10-question quiz and ensure you achieve a passing score.
    5. Once you successfully complete each quiz, a certificate will be available to view and download from the BalanceTrack website. Certificates will also be emailed to you.
    6. Download them, and save them securely.
    7. Log in to the scholarship application via the Omni portal and upload your certificates as required on the BalanceTrack Tab.
What is the required essay topic? How long should it be?

You are required to complete an essay of at least 300 words (not more than 500 words) on the following subject: After completing Delta Community’s Financial Education Center BalanceTrack modules, you’ve gained valuable insights into money management and responsible credit use. How will you apply this knowledge to shape your financial future in a positive and practical way?

If I haven’t decided which college I’m attending, can I still apply?

Yes. However, the applicant must submit a letter of acceptance from an accredited college, university or trade school. Should the applicant be selected as a winner, Delta Community will verify which school the applicant has decided to attend prior to funding the scholarship.

Am I required to submit an acceptance letter if I’m already in college?

No. This requirement is only for current high school seniors who will be attending college for the first time in the fall of 2026.

How do I know the status of my application?

Use the following key for your application status:

  • Click Dashboard – Your application has not been submitted if it indicates DRAFT under Status. Click "Edit" and follow the instructions to submit your application.
  • Once you've completed all of the required fields you may click "Submit as Final". Your application has been properly submitted.
  • Submitted – Your application has been properly submitted.
How can I view my submitted application?

From your Dashboard, click "Download" under Actions to view or download your application.
